The Winds of Change

Posted in Blogging, Personal by Curtis on 11/3/06

Does anyone remember that awesome music video from Germany with all the footage of Potsdammer Platz and the whistling? And what was the artist?

Some changes will be coming to Tell It.

Within the next few days I plan on taking advantage of WP‘s domain mapping so that I can have a shiny URL with my name on it. I’m also going to look at changing up the theme but I’m not ready to go CSS-flexible yet because I don’t want to get bogged down in HappyCodeLand without stocking up on marshmallow creme and graham crackers first.

I might even change the name of the blog—but remember, a rose by any other name would schmell as schweet. Thanksch, Bill.

Also, I promise I am still working on the public education piece I’ve been jabbering about in every other post for, like, a month now. It’s all part of my diabolically sadistic plan to get you good folks excited and expecting some grand exposé just so I can let you down with a few scholarly citations and a meaningless summation of what you’ve just read. Well, I plan to include real pictures of fake aliens. I swear it will be done. Does that help?

In conclusion, I feel that I should at least half-heartedly apologize for not stopping by many of my favorite blogs as regularly as was the case previously. I’ll get back in the schwing of thingsch schoon, but lately my computer time has been (perhaps fortuitouschly) limited moreso than ’twas in previous months.

Happy November 3!

Schweet. A nice anthemic song to invoke for what I expect will be exciting changes. You’re keeping it all fresh and us appreciative readers on our toes, aren’t you :) I remember the song but had to look it up to see who it was by (see link above). (Hopefully I’ll be whistling it after the US mid-terms — excuse my overt partisanship ;))

Good luck with the domain mapping. I was very happy to make that change; for a nominal fee with a local domain registry, hey presto, ’twas done. As you say, its a good path to venture on if one doesn’t want to get too encumbered in CodeLand, especially if you’re a novice like me and would need more than a hand in navigating this strange land ;)

See you back here soon then, anticipating a brand new look and other possible changes. Bring it on and best wishes with it.

Thanks very much, guys, and thanks for the link, Ann. I knew someone would know what I was talking about!
